A/N: Please read my comments!


Jenna's Ranch was cluttered with leaves of many colors, from orange to red. The
fall of the year had come, making Sinnoh grow even colder. Colder weather never kept Jenna's ranch from being full of life. Most of Jenna's team welcomed the colder weather, which they were all accustomed to.

Things were more active at the current time as Ross had his hands full. Ross was pursuing both Scratch and Presto who were running rampant.

"Come back you two!" Ross yelled

"Haha, Ross can't keep up with us!" Scratch exclaimed

"Big fat rat can't keep up!" Presto taunted

"When I catch you two you'll be sorry!"

The two of them split up into two different paths, Ross pursued Scratch thinking it was more realistic to catch the one that was on the ground.

Cotton and Napoleon both laid in a pile of leaves nearby.

"Ah fall, the most colorful season of the year." Cotton said

"I suppose if you like orange, yellow, and red." Napoleon replied

"Well just checking I believe those are the same colors you are."

"You'd be right there, but you can do much more with me than with a dead, dried up leaf."

"Oh really and what could I do with you, that I couldn't with a leaf?" Cotton giggled

"I'll show you."

Napoleon was about to press his lips against Cotton's when Scratch rushed by kicking leaves up into both of their faces while he taunted "Ross can't catch me, Ross can't catch me!" Ross soon ran by.

"Ross can't you control that hyperactive chipmunk?!" Napoleon exclaimed to him

"Let's see you try, tough guy!" Ross yelled back

The continued for a bit further before Presto joined back up with Scratch. "Presto time for plan F!"

"Gotcha plan F!"

Presto broke away from Scratch, as Scratch lured Ross back towards the Ranch's main building. Scratch ran around the corner to see Presto over head with a basket filled with different kinds of fruits and vegetables. Ross came running around the corner not noticing Presto above.

"Bombs away!" Presto yelled taking an overly ripe tomato and dropping in Ross's path.

Ross narrowly avoided it. "Hey that's the master's food!"

"And our ammo!" Presto exclaimed again throwing another tomato.

Presto pursued Ross and Scratch throwing over ripe fruits and vegetables at Ross.
It wasn't long before they drew close to Matthew and Elizabeth.

"Just another normal day." Elizabeth said

At that moment Scratch, Ross and Presto still throwing stuff at Ross from above ran by.

"Indeed, another normal day." Replied Matthew

Presto after a few more throws ran out of ammo. "Scratch! We outta Ammo!"

"Then find something else! Go big, be creative!"

"Big got it!"

Presto flew off again. And Ross was beginning to close in on Scratch. It was only a few moments before Presto returned struggling to hold onto a pumpkin he was carrying

"Big enough Scratch!?"

"Oh yeah get ready to let it fly!"

The three of them were coming up on Vincent who was walking towards their direction.

"Hey Ross you seen Veruka!?"

"Let it fly Presto!"

"Sorry Vincent, busy!" Ross exclaimed back

Presto had released the pumpkin, it missed Ross. Instead of hitting Ross as intended it smashed onto Vincent's head.

A muffled scream was audible through the pumpkin "Its Dark!" Vincent cried. "Its dark and it stings!" he repeated as wandering around blinded. He Eventually fell to the ground and rolled around.

Luckily for Vincent, Rupert walked up.

"Woah Vincent Halloween isn't for a few weeks still."

"Rupert! Help! Its dark and it Stings my eyes!" Vincent yelled muffled by the pumpkin.

"Alright hold on." Rupert said Kneeling down. He stabbed his red claw into the pumpkin splitting it down the side making it easy for him to break it in half. Rupert threw the pumpkin scraps aside.

"Thank you Rupert!"

"No problem I guess, I'm just not gonna ask how that happened."

"You haven't seen Veruka have you?"

"I think she's down by Lake Verity."

"What she's doing there?"

"I don't know, I usually don't keep tabs on her."

"Well I'm gonna go see if she's there."

"Alright then."

"Oh and watch out for Scratch and Presto by the way." He said running towards the nearby brush.

Sure enough Veruka was down at Lake Verity. She stood knee deep in water simply cleaning her fur.

"You know no matter how hard you try you won't be any more beautiful."

Veruka turned to the shore where Vincent now sat.

"Flattering doesn't work on me, I thought you would've figured that out by now." She replied turning back out towards the lake.

"Who said I was flattering, I was simply stating a fact."

"Of course you were." She sarcastically replied

"I don't get, why you're weak to water but you're able to bath in water."

"It's only water attacks that hurt me, unless you're something like a Magmar."

"That makes sense, I think."

"I assure you it does."

"It's kinda funny I always thought you burned all the grim and whatnot off of you."

"For the most part yes I can do that, but the thing about dirt is. It doesn't burn very well."

"Guess your right there."

"Alright eyes closed and hands over them."

"Huh, why do I need to do that?"

"I'm taking my chest plate off a moment."

Vincent did as Veruka said. Veruka removed her chest plate and sat it on the shore and went back deeper into the water.

Danny and Merry were sitting in a nearby tree overlooking Vincent and Veruka.
"Merry, my dear Merry tell me what do you see here?"

"Um, Vincent with his hands over his eyes and Veruka bathing."

"Oh no Merry allow me to tell you what I see here." Danny pointed to Veruka's chest ring. "What this is, is opportunity."

"Opportunity? To do what?"

"Vincent there has his hand over his eyes tighter than an Ekans around a Pidgey. Veruka's back is turned and her lovely golden chest plate is just laying there just screaming 'Danny come get me!'."

"Can I open them yet Veruka?" Vincent asked

"No, not yet."

Danny leapt down and crept over to Veruka's chest plate.

"Wow this thing is heavier than it looks." Danny said lifting it Veruka turned around to see Danny with her chest plate in hand.

"Danny!"

"Oh crap busted."

Danny quickly ran into the brush.

"Get back here you little imp!"

"What's going on?" Vincent asked opening and removing his hands from his eyes. Vincent's face turned several shades of red upon laying eyes on Veruka, with her missing element.

"Vincent!" She shrieked.

A Magikarp thrown by Veruka slammed into Vincent barely a second after her shriek.

"I'm sorry I didn't know." Vincent replied throwing the Magikarp back into the lake.

"Whatever after Danny!" Veruka commanded who now had her arms wrapped around her chest.

"Alright lead on."

Another Magikarp slammed into him, once again thrown by Veruka.

"What was that one for?" He asked once again throwing the Magikarp back

"You go first. That way I can run properly, and don't you dare look behind you!"

Vincent ran into the Brush and Veruka followed.

Danny and Merry had gained a decent bit of ground.

"A little hairy towards the end, but a success!"

"Whose even gonna buy that Danny?"

"It's Gold Merry, one of my and countless other people's favorite substance."

"Well Veruka and Vincent are both fast so I hope you have an idea, cause I don't think we can out run them."

"Ah Merry, ye of so little faith."

Despite Danny's confidence both Vincent and Veruka were closing in on the two of them.

"Danny I see them behind us!"

"Just don't look back I'm making my daily score one way or another!"

Veruka now had clear sight of Danny. "Vincent hit the ground!" She barked

Vincent complied and fell face first down to the ground, just before Veruka set a fireball flying towards Danny. It just barely misses Danny.

"Yikes! Things are getting dangerously hot here."

"Drop the plate you imp or the next one won't miss!" Veruka yelled

"Never!"

Veruka threw another fireball; once again it barely missed Danny. They continued their chase for a bit further before Veruka threw another fireball. This one made contact with Danny's back.

"Hot! Hot! Hot!" Danny yelled dropping the chest plate and charging forward.
Veruka came to a stop and grabbed her chest ring and place it back where it belonged.

"The next time I see that little imp."

"Veruka!" Vincent yelled from behind. She turned to look in his direction. Most of his torso was covered with a light coat of dirt from where he hit the ground on Veruka's command.

"You know when I told you to hit the ground, I didn't mean for you to eat it."

"Yeah not one of my best decisions."

"Since when have you ever made a good decision?"

"Hey I resent that."

A little ways ahead Danny and Merry had come to a stop. Danny was breathing heavily from the chase.

"Well there went today's profit, unless a scorched back would be considered profit."

"That was probably the most reckless thing you've done Danny."

"Oh no, I've done worse. That I assure you."

"Well looks like we did lose her though."

Danny tilted his head downwards in thought. "How to make a profit today, when my perfect plan was perfectly ruined." Suddenly Danny felt someone or something breathing heavily down his neck. "Merry please stop breathing down my neck I'm trying to think here." The breathing continued on for a few more moments. "Merry I said stop it!" he said lifting his head up to see Merry in front of him, terrified.

"Danny…"

"If you're there, then… There's something very bad behind me isn't there?"
Merry simply nodded.

"Let's see here." Danny said reaching behind him. "Wet nose, horns, and really sharp fangs." He turned to see a Houndoom staring right at him, growling. Danny chuckled nervously "Good Doggy?"

The Houndoom snarled in response.

"Not a good doggy… Merry… Run!" Danny yelled as he shot off, to which Merry quickly followed. The Houndoom pursued them.

"We should be getting back to the ranch Vincent."

"I agree, evenings getting close. I really don't want to be in the woods in the dark."

Thunder cracked in the distance. Both Veruka and Vincent looked up to the sky
through the trees, the clear skies had grown dark and an ominous wind had began to blow.

"Veruka, do you feel uneasy right now like I do."

"Very, something is wrong."

All the sudden Danny and Merry burst from the nearby brush both screaming and not even slowing down.

"Okay, something really has those two scared." Veruka said

Vincent was gripping Veruka's tail at this point "Maybe it'll go away?"

"I doubt it and let go of my tail."

The Houndoom that had chased Danny and Merry burst through the brush taking a fighting stance towards Vincent and Veruka. Veruka took a defensive stance.

"A wild Houndoom? Here?" said Veruka

"I don't understand either, but I bet that's what scared Danny and Merry. It personally doesn't look like it wants to make friends."

"There's something odd about this one."

The Houndoom lunged forward at Veruka. She knocked it back with a quick swing of her arm.

"Now I don't know what we did to antagonize you, but this is uncalled for." Veruka said trying to reason with the Houndoom.

It leapt forward catching Veruka slightly off guard. It sunk its fangs into Veruka's arm, causing her to shout in pain.

"Veruka!" Vincent cried, and without thinking it leapt forward and knocked the Houndoom back with a headbutt.

"That's one way to use your head."

"What's my way to get ahead now?" Vincent replied somewhat dazed from impact.
Veruka formed a ball of yellow energy between her hands and launched a powerful focus blast at the Houndoom. The Houndoom still dazed from Vincent's "surprise" attack, was unable to act quick enough to dodge. The blast sent it flying back a few feet. It tried to get to its feet but collapsed.

"Well that takes care of him." Said Veruka

"Still wish I could do that." Vincent replied

They heard a crash in the distance.

"That came from the direction of the ranch." Vincent said

"Then come on!"

The two of them ran back in the direction of the ranch.

Back on the ranch Jenna and her team had their hands full. An oversized Drapion was causing chaos. It had just appeared out of nowhere and started wrecking the ranch. All of Jenna's team there was fighting it to the best of their extent as Jenna stood back some giving any commands she thought would be useful.

Currently Napoleon and Cotton had its attention. Cotton had already used rain dance causing an increase in Napoleon's speed. Napoleon charged it head on with an Aqua jet; the Drapion however simply swatted him aside with one of its massive arms. It launched a ball of poison sludge from its mouth at Napoleon, who managed to quickly dodge it. Napoleon charged forward and leapt at the Drapion and sunk his fangs into its shoulder. This however didn't even seem to faze it, as it grabbed Napoleon and squeezed him between its monstrous claws.

"Release me!"

The Drapion's only response to this was sinking its claws deep into Napoleon's flesh. A poison began flowing into Napoleon only adding to his pain. Napoleon was beginning to lose consciousness.

"Damned Cross Poison…"

"Somebody help him!" Cotton cried out

Suddenly a strong bolt of electricity hit the Drapion; once again the Drapion didn't even seem fazed. All it did was turn to see Ross, with sparks coming from his cheeks.

"Even if he's a jerk, I won't stand by and let you kill him."

The Drapion threw Napoleon aside slamming him into Cotton and turned its attention to Ross. Sharp pins shot out from the Drapion towards Ross, who quickly dodged them all. Ross launched a huge blast of electricity which was intensified by Cotton's rain dance. It struck the Drapion full force; once again the Drapion appeared unfazed. It slashed at Ross with its claws, knocking Ross back. It opened its mouth preparing to unleash a ball of poison sludge at Ross. A few large Rocks slammed into its back knocking it off balance, throwing the ball of sludge away from Ross.

"How's that feel!?" Rupert exclaimed

The Drapion turned around and faced Rupert. It lunged forward and hit slashed Rupert in an X path with its claws. Rupert fell to his knees. "That your best shot." Rupert taunted, however he could not hide that he was indeed in pain.
A Focus blast hit the Drapion from behind, this attack did actually seem to faze it.

"Why not pick on someone closer to your level!?" Veruka Taunted "No offense Rupert!"

"None taken!"

The Drapion lunged towards Veruka. She quickly leapt aside and rolled behind it and struck it with a powerful punch. The Drapion hit the ground face forward.

"Not so tough against someone just as strong as you huh?"

The Drapion suddenly borrowed underground.

"Running away?"

As soon as she finished saying that one line the Drapion Burst up from under her, sending her flying a few yards into the air before crashing back on the ground.

"Veruka!" Vincent yelled

At that moment Vincent looked at Veruka laying on the ground wrenching in pain, something happened that had never happened before. Vincent felt a combination, of horror, anger, and power.

"Veruka!" he yelled again. Instinctively he pulled his hands back and then lunged them forward from them came a powerful blast of blue and yellow energy. The orb slammed into the Drapion sending it flying back a few yards.

Everyone was speechless and in awe, but no one as much so as Vincent himself.
"That was… a dragon pulse…" he said to himself

The Drapion got back to its feet, Vincent's attack succeeded in hurting it but also pissing it off. It charged towards Vincent with a Roar. It was stopped in its path by a bright yellow colored beam from above that tore the ground up where it hit.

"Hyper beam?" Jenna said to herself

They looked up to see a Dragonite and a Shiny Flygon, a cloaked man rode on the Flygon's back.

The Man held out a pokeball and tossed it. 'Rex, you know what to do!" he yelled
A Lucario emerged from the ball. Both it and the Drapion eyed each other down. Then suddenly the Lucario shot forward with an incredible speed slamming into the Drapion, sending it flying back a good distance.

The Lucario Charged forward, throwing lightning fast punches. The Drapion was unable to block them all and was could not help but to be forced back towards the cliff. The Drapion took a quick and powerful swipe at the Lucario, who quickly leapt back and launched an Aura sphere at the Drapion. The sphere pushed the Drapion back onto the edge of the cliff.

"Rex! Earthquake!" the cloaked man yelled

The Lucario responded by leaping up and then slamming back to the ground, slamming his fist into the ground. A fierce rumbled followed and the cliff the Drapion was standing on shattered and fell, tossing the Drapion into the sea below.
The Lucario dusted itself off and walked back towards where Jenna's team was.

Where now the Dragonite and Flygon were landing.

Vincent rushed over to Veruka. When he got to her she appeared out cold.

"Veruka! Wake up!" he cried while shaking her

At this point Jenna had joined Vincent. She checked Veruka all over. As Vincent watched with a worried face

"She's alive Vincent don't worry." Jenna assured "She's just out cold, bruised up. I don't know if anything is broken, but she'll be fine I wager."

The Cloaked man had got off the Flygon and walked over to Jenna.

"Your Infernape is it okay?" the man spoke

Jenna faced him. "Yes, thanks to you."

"I'd say that thanks belongs to your Lucario, not me."

Jenna recalled Vincent using a Dragon pulse. "To be honest that surprised me."

"That isn't normal?"

"No, usually Vincent can never use attacks like that. But wait just who are you?"

"Oh please forgive my manners, I have been traveling for quite some time now and I tend to forget." The man removed the hood of his cloak revealing a head of slightly spiky white hair. "Pogy Dragmire of Origin at your service, and I believe I have a lot of explaining to do."
